Both these rooms are situated on the first floor and have direct access to the Sensory and Music and Movement Rooms. These rooms also have their own garden area which has been prepared with a soft landing surface and suitable toys for this age group. Both rooms have snack preparation areas, nappy changing and sleeping facitilities. By this stage children are generally walking, albeit not too steadily and the rooms are set up to provide safe but challenging and interesting play experiences. As always, we communicate closely with parents to ensure a happy transition between home and nursery.
Bumblebees Room
At around two years your child will move to the Bumblebees Room. This group is in a large room on the ground floor with access to its own garden area which is also covered with safety soft surface. At this stage children will have a much wider choice of play experience both indoor and out. As in the Baby Rooms time is set aside for snacks, lunch and a sleep after lunch. Most children are also 'toilet trained' while in this room and staff work closely with parents and help and advise when necessary.

The above document which has been written by 'Learning and Teaching Scotland' provides the basis for all our work with children under 3
'Young children need intimate and flexible environments, with other people, who will give them time and attention, who will show a genuine interest and delight in them, who are able to show an enthusiasm and a willingness to be adaptable and who demonstate that children's feeling and ideas matter' (Scottish Executive Learning and Teaching Scotland 2005)
